Way Off Broadway, Iowa's only professional musical theater company, presents Kander and Ebb's award-winning musical.

The scene is a nightclub in Berlin, as the 1920s are drawing to a close. Through the eyes of a young American writer, Cliff, Cabaret tells the story of singer Sally Bowles and the tumultuous and heartbreaking era leading up to the Third Reich. In the seedy Kit Kat Klub, the Master of Ceremonies' songs provide wry commentary throughout the show.

Way Off Broadway has assembled a terrific cast of local and national talent:
  • Lyric Benson, whose vocal album "Love Light Revolution" was released this year,  comes to Iowa to play Sally Bowles. Lyric is the daughter of Robby Benson and Karla DeVito, who have also performed for Way Off Broadway.
  • Jonathon Christopher (seen on the Center's stage in Plaid Tidings) plays the Emcee.
  • The cast of 18 professional performers is accompanied by a live band led by Shari Rhoads.

Cabaret contains adult language and situations; persons under 15 should be accompanied by an adult.

Ticket sales begin Wednesday, February 20 at 11:00 am.
